This is awesome. I want Google Maps to support more projections than just this flat world one. It would be cool to see this as a closed pointed curve because the map is spherical or pole-centred flat world.
Also, there seems to be a flaw or misunderstanding with the Google+ API that I'm using for my website which means that this text isn't shown on the post item over there :(
